Do you ever experience “true comfort”?
A recent poll of 2000 people found that just 21% feel completely relaxed or at ease in their day. It also found that the average person feels any sense of comfort for just 1/3 of their day (roughly eight hours). That includes sleep!
People said their top comfort activities included:
- napping
- walking
- spa day
How often do you experience true comfort?

Daily Did You Know – Dog named Blue needs your help
A few months ago, Fur-Ever Able Dog Rescue took in a miniature bulldog named Blue. He had suffered a broken leg with his previous owner, which healed over without surgery. However, it seems he’s experiencing issues and tests are being done to figure what is happening. It’s believed that he may be dealing with neurological issues that are affecting movement in the same leg that he broke. The local rescue organization is hoping to raise money to help pay for the tests and potential procedures.

Ontario Liberal Party announces Milton candidate for upcoming by-election
The Ontario Liberal Party has announced a familiar name as their candidate for the upcoming Milton by-election. Galen Naidoo Harris will be running for the seat that his mother won ten years ago. He’ll go up against PC candidate Zeeshan Hamid, as well as whoever the NDP and Ontario Greens announce soon. This by-election is happening because Milton MPP Parm Gill resigned from his role to run at the federal level against MP Adam van Koeverden. No timeline has been officially shared for the Milton by-election.
Instagram is limiting the amount of political content you’ll see in your feed
Meta is looking to limit the amount of political content on your Instagram feed. This won’t affect who you’re following, but it will affect suggested posts. This has angered a lot of people, surprisingly enough. People are viewing this as censorship as the states go through their election season, and us here in Canada aren’t able to get local news through Bill C-18. That said, you can actually remove this limit from your Instagram account. Just head to the settings and switch it off – it’s that simple. So, if you’re someone who hates seeing political stuff on your IG feed, ignore me! If you don’t mind it, and feel like you’re being censored, then switch it off! Now, if only our station was allowed to access our Facebook and Instagram feeds… That’d be nice…
Solar eclipse in April could lead to an increase in traffic collisions, Sunnybrook study suggests
Add this to yesterday’s ‘Eclipse Tips’ story: be careful while driving during April’s solar eclipse. A study by Sunnybrook Hospital says the eclipse in 2017 caused an increase in traffic collisions, which potentially led to more deaths. Researchers actually found a 31% increase in traffic risks. They project an increase of 125 collisions across Ontario, with the daily provincial average hovering around 400. They say this risk also extends to the day before and after, which is interesting to consider. The eclipse is set for Monday, April 8th. Enjoy the experience, but also, stay safe on the roads.

Everyone gets old, including the action heroes you grew up watching on TV. The physical embodiment of exercise, Arnold Schwarzenegger, had to get a pacemaker put in last week. Human flesh over a metal exoskeleton Sounds like someone that I know…
The Secret To Good Sleep?
If you’re struggling to get a good night’s sleep, a study says you might not being exercising long enough. Researchers in Iceland found that as little as two 30-minute workout sessions a week can be enough to tackle even the harshest of sleeping issues. Those two workouts decrease your risk of insomnia, and increase your likelihood of getting up to nine hours of sleep a night. If you’re having trouble getting some shut-eye, go for a run… That’ll tire you out.
Pirates of the Caribbean Producer Confirms Franchise Is Getting a ‘Reboot’ With Sixth Movie
If you’re a big fan of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, I’ve got some good news and some bad news. Good news: they’ve announced a sixth movie. Hooray! These movies, specifically the first three, were so massive that they tricked us into saying Caribbean wrong. The bad news: the sixth installment is reportedly set to be a reboot for the franchise. Boo! What that means is, they’re looking to move forward without key actors of the franchise. They tried this with the fourth movie, only bringing Johnny Depp back for the film. They then went back to the old cast for the fifth movie. That one was panned critically, despite making a lot of money in Asia, so the team behind the franchise has decided to go in a different direction altogether for the sixth. We’ll see if they actually follow through with it, and if they do, we’ll see if the movie is any good!
