The Milton Chamber of Commerce Sports Celebrity virtual event is back for another night.
The Milton Chamber President and CEO Scott McCammon says night two is happening on International Women’s Day.
He adds that the Chamber is always fortunate to get top level athletes for this event. Last year featured hockey great Eric Lindros, former Toronto Raptor Alvin Williams, Raptors Colour Commentator Jack Armstrong, and more.
Night two will be the same as night one and will not feature the usual dinner that is associated with the Sports Celebrity Dinner. That said, McCammon recommends that residents who purchase tickets could order out from a local restaurant. That way, they get a good meal and support local businesses.
It will take place on Monday, March 8th. With it being on International Women’s Day, it will have the theme of ‘Women in Sports’. Expected to be on the call is Olympic Gold Medalist Marie-Philip Poulin, boxer Mandy Bujold, cyclist Allison Beveridge and will be hosted by Olympic Gold Medalist (and Milton resident) Tessa Bonhomme.
The money goes toward the Chamber’s annual scholarship program, which gives out seven $1000 scholarships to local students heading into post-secondary.
