Premier Doug Ford has accepted the resignation of Finance Minister Rod Phillips.
Ford issued a statement today saying the move is a demonstration that the government takes seriously its obligation to hold itself to a higher standard.
Phillips has come under fire after it was discovered he was vacationing in St. Barts in the Caribbean despite constant pleas from health leaders and government officials for Ontarians to stay home and not leave for non-essential reasons.
In addition to his role as President of the Treasury Board, Minister Peter Bethlenfalvy will assume the role of Finance Minister and deliver the province’s 2021 budget.
