Ontario’s Minister of Finance, Rod Phillips, was in Milton last night.
He was attending a budget consultation meeting at the Milton Education Village Innovation Centre ahead of the Ontario 2020 budget being finalized.
Minister Phillips says Milton has fairly unique needs with how fast it’s been growing.
However, the biggest issue for him is the interest being paid on the province’s debt.
Minister Phillips says the partnership between the Town and the Province will be one of the keys for making the growth work.
He says while the growth of Milton remains an issue moving forward, it’s been a success in the last year and a half.
Ontario’s 2020 budget is expected to be finalized in March.
