A local business is holding a food drive for Halton Women’s Place.
Akal Optical is hoping to collect enough food to make a difference.
Manager Reenu Sharma says Akal is even going to match the dollar value.
The Halton Women’s Place has been at the top of people’s mind as of late. The women’s shelter recently held their annual week long event, ‘Hope in High Heels’, that was done virtually. Coaches at the local gym ‘Reebok CrossFit FirePower’ also did burpees for seven straight hours to raise funds for Halton Women’s Place.
Sharma explains that as a woman, she just wanted to help other women.
The food drive is running until the end of the month.
