The Milton Menace had a pair of opportunities this past weekend to bounce back after suffering their first loss of the 2026-2027 OJHL regular season last week.
On Friday, September 18th, the Menace travelled to Niagara Falls to battle the Canucks.
It was the Canucks who scored first, opening the scoring at the halfway mark in the first period. Milton would answer back, with Wyatt McKellar netting his 1st of the year, assisted by Dean Deligeorgis and Quinlan Clair. It was 1-1 after 20 minutes of action.
No scoring would take place in the second period, with the Menace outshooting the Canucks 13-11, despite three penalties being called on Milton players.
The Menace would take the lead in the third period. Paul Mazanik buried the go-ahead goal – his 3rd of the year, assisted by Nathan Catalano and Shayden Hintenberger. Chris Soares would then take advantage of the man advantage, scoring his 3rd of the year, with Clair and Deligeorgis getting two more assists. That would give the Menace the 3-1 win over Niagara Falls.
Austin McKillop was back in net for Milton. He stopped 29 of 30 shots, giving them the stellar .967% save percentage and the win.
The Menace returned home on Sunday, September 20th to host the Georgetown Raiders.
It was the second match-up between the two North Halton teams in this young OJHL season. Milton won the previous game, 7-1.
There would be no scoring in the first period, but the Menace were applying the pressure. They outshot the Raiders 19-12 in the opening frame.
In the second period, the shots started going in. Quinlan Clair scored his 1st of the year, assisted by Chris Soares and Dean Deligeorgis. That was then followed up by a goal from Alex Spadafora. His 2nd of the year was assisted by Don William Bristol and Gavin Sheehan. It was 2-0 Milton after 40 minutes.
Milton would get two more goals from Bristol and Nathan Catalano, leading the Menace to smooth 4-0 shutout win.
Having not sat once this season, Austin McKillop was back between the pipes. He made all 27 saves for his 1st shutout win of the season.
Next up will be a road game against the King Rebellion. This is the franchise once known as the Milton Icehawks. They left here to become the Brantford 99ers in 2018, before moving to King in 2024.
The Menace take on the Rebellion on Wednesday, September 23rd. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m. at the Zancor Centre.
They then return home on Friday, September 25th to take on the Burlington Cougars.
