Alright, let’s talk about it…
Women: Would you rather be alone in the woods with a bear or a man?
This viral question has sparked controversy online, as many of the women who are responding are choosing the bear. If not, they’re at least asking questions like:
- Do I know the man?
- What kind of bear?
- What do I have with me?
This has actually angered a lot of men online, as they can’t understand why a woman would potentially feel safer in the presence of a bear than an unknown man.
It comes down to abuse and the risk of abuse. I think men need to understand why a woman might imagine a black bear is more likely to leave them alone than an unknown man in the woods, and therefore, why they might choose the bear over the man.
Where do you stand?
Let me know!

ICYMI – The history behind Milton’s Furik Place and Logan Drive
Each week, Milton Historical Society President John Challinor dives into the origins of local street names. This week, we covered a street named after a well-known former Councillor and another named after a pioneering farming family! We’ll have two more streets next week.
Daily WTF – Zero regrets: Firefox power user kept 7,500 tabs open for two years
How many tabs do you keep open on your computer? Because of my job, I’ve become famous in our company for having dozens of tabs open at all times. Currently, as I write this, I have 25 tabs open. For some, that’s a lot! For others, that’s child’s play. A woman by the name of Hazel shared online that she kept nearly 7500 tabs open on her work computer… 7500! She works as a software engineer, so you can imagine that a good chunk of those tabs are work related. Thing is, Mozilla Firefox, the internet software she was using, crashed on her. She lots all 7500 tabs in an instant. She took to Twitter/X to confess about her digital hoarding and needed help. People were able to give her the answer she needed, and all 7500 tabs were restored. After reading all that, I’m happy to say that my 25 tabs are doing well, and I know which purpose each one serves. Digital hoarding? Far from it.

Business trip lottery ticket is a winner for Oakville man
You might have won the lottery and not even know it, mainly because your partner might not be telling you! An Oakville man kept his lottery win a secret after buying his ticket on a recent business trip. Real estate broker Joseph Azimi won $100,000 through a February LOTTO 6/49 draw. He decided he wasn’t going to tell anyone until that cheque was in his hand, and now, he’s taking his family on a well-needed vacation. So, tonight, sit your partner down and ask them “did we win the lottery?” There’s now a >0% chance that the answer is yes!
King Charles won’t be featured on $20 bills until 2027, Bank of Canada says
If you’re someone who’s been looking forward to a new look for Canada’s $20 bill, you’ll have to keep waiting for a few more years. The Bank of Canada says that King Charles will not have his face on the currency anytime soon. The estimated date is sometime in 2027. They reason that, while the process seems simple, it does take a lot of work. There are multiple steps, and even a year into his run as King, there are still more to go. So, for the time being, if you still use cash, get used to seeing the late Queen Elizabeth II on the $20 bill… She’ll be around for another three years, minimum.
GOOD NEWS – Dehydrated dog blended in with the dirt — until Arizona hiker spots her ‘bright eyes’
A dog is alive today because of one lucky encounter. An Arizona hiker was going through a trail when they noticed something: there was a dog hiding on the cliffside. The two-year-old Shar-Pei mix was clearly not a wild dog, but here it was, stuck in the desert on its own. Nicknamed ‘Bright Eyes’ for her striking looks, she was dehydrated and potentially sick from being stranded alone. The hiker immediately called the local humane society, who got there as fast as they could. In that time, the hiker never left Bright Eyes. The sweet girl was gathered up, brought in for some medical check-ups, and is recovering from her adventure outdoors… And that is some good news!
TSA shockingly finds bag of snakes hidden inside passenger’s pants at Miami International Airport
For Woody in Pixar’s Toy Story, he famously had a “snake in his boot.” For one passenger at Miami International Airport, they had snakes in their pants! TSA agents began the pat down process on the man, when they noticed something strange. He was keeping a sunglasses bag in his pants, and it was clearly not filled with sunglasses. Police were called to the scene. Click here if you want to hear the audio from the incident.
Daryl Hall confirms Hall & Oates split amid legal battles
If you thought Hall & Oates could mend fences and stick together, you’d be wrong! The duo made headlines last year when it was announced that Hall was suing Oates. Reports say Oates was trying to sell his share of their joint business venture, and for Hall, that was a no-go. Hall even said that people change over time, and sometimes you just don’t know someone like you used to know them. They’re both in their 70s, and here they are, breaking up over something you never would have expected. It’s like finding out your grandparents are getting a divorce! It’s like “Really? You can’t just figure this one out?” Apparently not!
