Freezies were trending across Canada last night!
With it being June, the official start of summer is just two weeks away. A lot of kids this summer will sit in the summer heat and enjoy freezies, much like we did at that age.
You have to pick one – which colour/flavour of freezies are you going with?
Let me know!

Daily WTF – Flavor Flav Ordered the Full Red Lobster Menu in an Attempt to ‘Save the Cheddar Bay Biscuits’ Following Bankruptcy
Find someone who loves you as much as rapper Flavor Flav loves Red Lobster and their Cheddar Bay biscuits. In case you don’t know, Red Lobster has filed for bankruptcy, stating their bottomless shrimp being a major reason why they’ve ended up in the red. Flav took to social media to post that he’s doing his part to keep the restaurant open, buying every single item off the menu in one trip. The several dozen menu items were sprawled out on a table in front of him. He confirmed that yes, he brought his whole family to eat with him, and they ate it buffet style. That’s like going to the Mandarin and getting lobster as an option… That’s pretty sweet!

Drake Cover of ‘Hey There Delilah’ Goes Viral — but Is It Real or AI?
I’ve been waiting to talk about this because I couldn’t believe it was real. Drake blew up the internet this week after he released a cover song, specifically a cover of the 2006 Plain White Tees smash hit ‘Hey There Delilah’. This cover is a Toronto-inspired version, known as ‘Wah Gwan Delilah’. I’m not joking. Listen to it here. Drake posted a screenshot of the song, which is a collab with Toronto artist, Snowd4y, to his Instagram story. It’s believed that him doing that confirms he at least approved the song. Whether it is a song done by artificial intelligence or not is still up in the air. I’ve heard this song at least ten times already this week, and to be honest, at first I thought it was awful. After ten times though, I kinda dig it! It’s weird, but in a fun way! I’ll admit, I did not have Wah Gwan Delilah on my 2024 BINGO card.
Help fundraise for Lupus with this Halton event
A lupus fundraiser is returning to the area this summer! The Hamilton-Halton WALK for Lupus is one of many provincial fundraisers that have collected more than $1 million over the last 23 years. It’ll be on Sunday, July 7th at Pier Four Park in Hamilton.
GOOD NEWS – After months of work, these Windsor auto shop students gave a car to a family in need
Owning a car in 2024 almost feels like a necessity to survive. Growing up, my family got by living in Georgetown without a car, but I quickly realized as an adult that I needed to buy one and learn how to drive if I was going to function. It is expensive to own one, though. There’s paying for the car itself, but then you have insurance, gas, and upkeep. A family in Windsor is getting a car gifted to them thanks to the work done by a group of high school auto shop students. They’ve been working on a 2011 Jeep Compass all year and finally gifted the refurbished vehicle to the family need, free of charge. They moved to the area five years ago from Nigeria and have been getting by with using buses and cabs. Now, they get to drive in a Jeep… And that’s some good news!

AFROJACK, PITBULL AND NE-YO ARE REUNITING FOR NEW MUSIC
Pitbull, Ne-Yo and Afrojack might be releasing the song of the summer – at least for all millennials who want to relive 2011. They shared a preview to their new single ‘2 the Moon’. If you missed hearing the voices of Mr. Worldwide and Ne-Yo as you jump up and down all summer, then you’re in luck. The track is scheduled to hit streaming platforms tomorrow.
Keanu Reeves’ Band Dogstar Announces Summer Vacation Tour 2024
It’s about to be a most excellent year for Keanu Reeves, as the actor has announced a full on reunion tour with his old band, Dogstar. The actor was in the band as their bassist back in the 80s and 90s, but Reeves left after he became THE Keanu Reeves. He appeared on stage with them at a festival last year, and he’s got that performer’s itch again. Dogstar will have 27 shows this summer. Despite being a Toronto guy, Reeves will not be performing in the GTA. The only Canadian show will be down the highway in Windsor, so you’ll need to commit a full day if you feel like seeing Keanu live. That show is scheduled for August 22nd. Tickets go on sale tomorrow.
