Do you Be-Leaf?
The Toronto Maple Leafs will play in game 6 of their 7 game series tonight.
If they win, they live to fight another day.
If they lose, they’re out of the playoffs and big changes are likely on the horizon for the team.
Can the Blue and White pull it off? Do you even care at this point?
Let me know!

ICMYI – Applications open for renamed Milton Community Connections Grant
The Milton Small Grant Program is back! Well, kind of, actually. The Town of Milton has renamed the program as the ‘Milton Community Connections Grant’. It serves the same purpose in providing local residents, groups, and organizations with funding for projects that help the community. Applicants can receive up to $2500 on a first come, first served basis. There’s a pool of $75,000 available, and once that runs out, the tap runs out this year. This money is provided through the quarterly payments from OLG for having a casino in Campbellville. If you’re looking for money for a local project, apply now!
Daily WTF – Monsters bee gone: Toddler’s claim of monster in her wall turns out to be 50,000 bees
When your kid claims there’s a monster in their closet, they’re not always imagining things. A three-year-old girl in Charlotte, North Carolina believed she had a monster living in her room. For months, she heard noises and refused to sleep in her bed. Her dad eventually noticed a few too many bees and started investigating. That’s when they came across a hive of 50,000 bees living floor-to-ceiling in the girl’s bedroom wall. A thermal video of it went viral on TikTok with nearly 10 million views. Beekeepers came in and removed the bees, along with roughly 100-pounds of honeycomb. All in all, it cost $27,500 to fix the issue. While the room gets looked after, the young girl will be sleeping somewhere else… Somewhere that she calls “Monster-free.”

We’ll see if that trend continues today. Polls open at 9am and close at 9pm. We’ll have the results for you after the election, and we’ll talk about it all tomorrow morning.

Dua Lipa releasing new album, hosting and performing at SNL
Dua Lipa is going to have a busy few days. She’s already one of the biggest names in pop music, and she’ll add it to her catalog tomorrow with a brand new album. ‘Radical Optimism’ will be released on Friday. This will be her first studio album since releasing ‘Future Nostalgia’ right when the pandemic shut everything down in 2020. Following the release, Lipa will host and perform on Saturday Night Live this weekend. They started airing promos for that yesterday. Big week! Can’t wait for new Dua! People have Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Arianna Grande, Doja Cat on their lists of top current pop stars – but Dua is my girl, and has been since 2017. We’ll go over the album tomorrow morning.
GOOD NEWS – 8th grader saves bus full of students when driver passes out
How do you think you’d react in an emergency? Have you had your fight or flight reaction tested? For 13-year-old Acie Holland III, he’s a fighter. His school bus driver suffered a medical event last week, forcing them to pass out while driving. That’s when Holland jumped to action. He removed the woman’s foot off the gas pedal, hit the brake, and safely parked the school bus. He then called 911 and checked in on the younger students. A lot of parents in Milwaukee have him to thank for saving their children’s lives, and that’s some good news.
Halton Police advising students to not play the ‘assassin game’
On Wednesday, Notre Dame Secondary School in Burlington was placed in a lockdown. A nearby catholic school was also placed in a hold and secure. Obviously, when this happens, parents and residents get freaked out. The Halton Police finished their investigation, lifted the safety protocols for both schools, and then posted to X asking students to not take part in the latest trend. It’s called ‘Senior Assassin’, and it’s been a trend on social media as of late. It has kids running around playing tag with squirt guns, nerf guns, air soft guns or paint ball guns. They say this game causes stress on the public, especially when the toy guns resemble real ones. So, sit your kids down and tell them to not play this game. If the game is capable of causing a lockdown, it’s probably capable of having more serious consequences… And no one wants that over a silly game of tag.
Airbnb Announces Stays at Pop Culture ‘Icons’
Airbnb is hoping you’ll want to stay at their new listings. They’ve launched a new campaign titled ‘Icons’. It features a number of houses designed to look like ones from pop culture. On this list, you have the house from Up! (balloons and all), the mansion from X-Men, and the Headquarters from Pixar’s Inside Out movies. There also concert lounges inspired by artists like Prince, Doja Cat, and comedian Kevin Hart. There are 11 total ‘Icons’ Airbnb listings. They’re all now available for bookings on the app, and reportedly go for less than $100 each. If you’ve wanted to wake up feeling like Wolverine, here’s your chance!
‘Uh-oh!’ James Blunt responds after Kent Police release lookalike e-fit
It’s not a good time to look like singer James Blunt in the UK. Kent Police released a sketch of a wanted criminal, and people noticed it look like someone. This led to Blunt posting the image on X with the caption “Uh-oh.” Good thing is that it’s been confirmed to not be James Blunt, but I’m sure the criminal is out there somewhere, a face in a crowded place, not knowing what to do, but all he knows is… You’re Beautiful.
