Liam Neeson will be starring in a remake of the Leslie Nielsen movies ‘The Naked Gun’.
People are skeptical about such a serious actor taking on such a beloved comedy role. How do you feel about the news?
With reboots and remakes happening all the time, what’s one that you’d actually like to see? Also, what movie should NEVER be remade?
The Princess Bride is off limits for me!
Let me know!

What else did we talk about this morning?
ICYMI – Uber Eats provides cannabis stats ahead of 4/20, Milton nearly topping charts
Miltonians seem to enjoy ordering in their weed. This Saturday will be 4/20, which is a big day for the cannabis community. Ahead of the big day, Uber Eats has shared some lists using 2023 data, and Milton is close to the top of the charts. We placed third among Ontario municipalities for ordering cannabis products for delivery, and second behind Mississauga in the GTA. The good news there is that residents are being responsible and putting the keys away. If you’re taking part in 4/20 festivities, consider ordering in and avoid driving. Stay safe!
Daily WTF – Giant pumpkin paddler Adam quite possibly the first person to float in one down Tumut River
If you’re going to a ball, you might as well get inside a pumpkin. It wasn’t a Cinderella story for an Australian man, however, as he ended up just floating down a river instead. Adam Farquharson and his friend managed to grow the country’s largest pumpkin. Sadly, like all things, the pumpkin was eventually going to go to waste. That’s when he decided to give it a second life as a makeshift canoe! He cut the pumpkin open, scooped out the insides, got inside, and paddled his way down a local river. The 407-kilogram gourd held up, as roughly 1,000 people watched him paddle by. What’s next for the giant pumpkin? Feed for local cows… The circle of life!
Milton Transit says 2023 was a record year for ridership numbers
2023 was a good year for Milton Transit! With the pandemic in the rearview mirror, and Conestoga College officially in town, the Town of Milton says they had record setting ridership. Nearly 620,000 people used the service last year, up a whopping 89% year-over-year. With Laurier expected to come soon, and Conestoga here full-time, 2024 is expected to surpass last year’s numbers. Which can only mean good things for local residents who used the service regularly! The more people use it, the more funding support it gets, meaning the more routes and trips provided.

‘I Am: Celine Dion’ Documentary Release Date Revealed
A lot of people have been anticipating a documentary on the great Celine Dion. The famous Canadian singer has been living with Stiff Person Syndrome these last few years, which has made her appearances sparse. Amazon Prime Video announced that people will be able to stream this Celine doc on June 25th, and the film will dive into her life behind-the-scenes as she battles this illness that a lot of people compared to Parkinson’s Disease. So three months – can’t wait!
Caitlin Clark’s Salary Is Lower Than Some NBA Mascots
College women’s basketball these last few years has exploded, and a lot of that has been off the backs of two young stars: Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese. Both were drafted to the WNBA this week, with Clark especially being all over the headlines. She’s hailed as the greatest college women’s basketball player of all time, she’s the GOAT! But, as she turns pro, many are pointing the vast gender pay gap in professional sports. Clark is such a star that Ice Cube offered her $5 million to play in his Big 3 basketball league. She’s incredible! But, her WNBA rookie contract will pay her just $76,000 in her first season. For reference, three NBA mascots will make more in one year than she will across the entire four-year deal. Thankfully, endorsements exist, and there was talk of her still playing in both the WNBA and the Big 3 league, meaning she could end up making more than $10 million a year anyway, but I think everyone agrees when I say: FEMALE PROFESSIONAL ATHLETES NEED TO BE PAID MORE! If Benny the Bull can make $400,000 a year for covering fans in popcorn, then maybe the Indiana Fever should be allowed to give Caitlin Clark a bit more cash. Here’s hoping that change happens soon!
The 1970 Let It Be Beatles documentary is coming to Disney Plus
It might be 2024, but The Beatles are still as relevant as ever. During the pandemic, Disney released the ‘Get Back’ documentary, a two-part series created by Peter Jackson using unseen footage of the band making music together. It seems Jackson has got his hands on the old ‘Let It Be’ documentary from 1970, and he’ll be using the same technology to remaster that one as well. It’s been out of circulation for roughly four decades, so it’s likely been a while since you’ve seen it IF you’ve even seen it. The doc will appear on Disney Plus next month (May 8th), and it’s guaranteed to be the most streamed thing for a while. If it’s anything like Get Back, my dad especially will have that thing playing 24/7 for a month.
Tim Hortons launches pizza nationally to ‘stretch the brand’ to afternoon, night
Tim Hortons is hoping you like the taste of coffee and pizza, as they have announced their latest addition to the menu. They’ve reportedly been working on a Tims Pizza for years now, and they’ve settled on the best options. The slate of flatbread pizzas are expected to hit stores this week with cheese, pepperoni, “bacon everything” and chicken Parmesan options. They’ve dominated breakfast for years, they’ve held their ground during lunch, and now they’re giving dinner a try… Tim Hortons Pizza, available today! We’ll see how this goes…
Gravy sent to Premier Doug Ford briefly shuts down Ontario government building
Pandemonium struck Queen’s Park this week after a surprise suspicious saucy shipment was sent to Premier Doug Ford. It’s never a good thing when politicians get suspicious packages, and so the Ontario government building was shut down while everything got resolved. It turns out, it was harmless. It was just gravy! Doug Ford has been accused of running his own gravy train, and it seems someone had a sense of humour to send him some gravy. His opposition, who started the gravy train accusations, have asked people to maybe send pictures of gravy next time… Probably safer that way…
