What are your tips for a good night’s sleep?
My wife has been struggling with her sleep this week, only getting one hour last night.
She’s tried tea, exercise, soothing creams – nothing’s working…
If you have any tricks to offer, send them my way!
Let me know!

What else did we talk about this morning?
ICYMI – Donate your unwanted electronic devices to the Milton Public Library
If you have any unwanted electronic devices that you’re hanging onto, then stop by the Milton Public Library this weekend. They’re holding a tech collect event on Sunday at their Sherwood library branch. They’ll even take broken technology, so don’t worry about it looking perfect. It starts at 10am and runs until 2pm.
Daily WTF – Truck crash spills live salmon into wrong Oregon river
Someone’s in trouble! 102,000 live salmon were on a truck heading to an Oregon river. They’re listed as endangered, and so a farm in the state breeds them and then releases them into nature. Last week, the truck carrying them crashed on the way to a specific riverbed, and all the fish came flying out of the truck. The good news: the vast majority of the salmon made it into a creek and have survived. 77,000 salmon are now swimming upstream towards freedom, and will likely arrive in their expected location to breed in the near future. The driver was not injured, most of the fish survived, talk about a happy accident…

The ballot for next month’s by-election is filling up! The NDP and Ontario Greens both announced their candidates. Kyle Hutton will represent the Greens here in Milton – while the NDP voted Edie Strachan as their representative. Those two will go up against Zeeshan Hamid of the PC Party and Galen Naidoo Harris of the Ontario Liberal Party. Voting day is set for May 2nd. Advanced polling and mail-in votes will be available.
Italian island overrun by goats is offering them free to anyone who can catch them
A small Italian island appears to have a goat problem. Alicudi says they ideally want 100 people and 100 goats on their remote island. Lately, the goats have begun to outnumber the humans. They’re now up to roughly 600 goats, six times more than they can handle. To combat this overpopulation problem, the mayor has offered anyone and everyone free goats! The adopt-a-goat program has officially launched, and it invites anyone in need of livestock to come take some goats, free of charge. You’re allowed up to 50 goats, the only real catch is that you have to catch them yourself within 15 days of your issued intent. Not a baaaa-d deal.
Price of NASA-approved eclipse glasses soar ahead of Monday’s event
People are getting ready for Monday’s solar eclipse. One thing you will DEFINITELY need when enjoying the experience is some sort of eye protection. This has led people to shop online for the best eclipse glasses, including ones approved by NASA. With the day getting closer and closer, shoppers have noticed the price of these specific glasses rising. Just a few months ago, you could’ve gotten a pair for $10.99. They reached as high as $29.99 at one point. They’re on-sale, with a two-pack available for just $19.99. This will reportedly be the last eclipse visible in Canada until the summer of 2044, when it rolls through the prairies and territories. So, if you want to experience this one before it’s too late, order a pair of eclipse glasses and relax. The show starts on Monday afternoon, with totality visible in Hamilton.
Highway signs asking Ontario drivers to telework during solar eclipse ‘not approved’
Leading up to Monday’s eclipse, you might have seen signs on the highway asking you to work from home that day. Those warnings have now been removed as they were reportedly not approved by the Ontario government. Next week’s celestial event is expected to come with a list of problems, including a potential increase in traffic collisions. These signs from the Ministry of Transportation apparently have someone in hot water, as the Ford government says they want everyone to treat Monday like a regular day. Will you work from home on Monday? Will you take the day off? Let me know!
The Rock Has Fans Confused Over Him Launching A Shampoo… Despite Being Bald
This weekend is WrestleMania 40, and in the Main Event of Night One, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson will team up with his cousin, Roman Reigns, to take on Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. It’s a big weekend for the wrestling industry, including ol’ Rocky. However, he’s actually making headlines this week for something else! People online are very confused by his latest product. If you don’t know, Dwayne Johnson has turned into quite the entrepreneur. On top of being the Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment, and one of the biggest movie stars on the planet, Johnson also owns a very successful tequila brand and energy drink company. He’s now adding a new item to his list of products – shampoo! Yes, the bald Dwayne Johnson now has a shampoo line. He says, “My hair would’ve loved this 2-in-1.” Gotta love the hustle of a bald man selling shampoo. But hey! I’m sure it’s still good for the scalp, so who’s to say he doesn’t use it! That said, hopefully Cody Rhodes woops that bald head of his this weekend… That’s all I’m asking for…
Gen Z is giving up smartphones for flip phones — but life without a map app is almost impossible
A growing trend among younger people is the switch from smartphones to ‘dumbphones’. Gen Z are switching their iPhones out for flip phones. I’ve been reading the reasons why, and it makes a lot of sense. These are people who grew up on a smartphone. A lot of them have had 24/7 access to social media before they hit puberty. The pandemic was listed as a big issue, as a lot of kids were locked in their houses and on their phones non-stop. The dumbphone trend is seen almost as a cleanse – a way to get their lost childhoods back. One issue that keeps getting brought up, and I’ve seen this mentioned a few times now, if you’re making the switch to a flip phone, make sure you get a newer version with access to maps. In 2024, that’s kind of a necessity, especially if you’ve had a smartphone for a long time. It’s that or you’ll need to get real acquainted with your surroundings.
Map Shows Fully Booked Airbnbs Along Solar Eclipse ‘Path of Totality’
It’s a good time to own an Airbnb in places like Indianapolis, Cleveland, Buffalo, Hamilton, and Kingston. On Monday, the moon will block out the sun for a total solar eclipse. People are travelling across Canada and the US to make sure they’re directly in the path of totality for this celestial event. This has led to a SURGE in bookings for Airbnbs, including a massive increase in pricing. Virtually every single AirBnB in the path of totality is booked, some people paying thousands for a one night stay. Imagine spending $3000 for a one night stay in Cleveland? It’s a good thing we’re right down the road from Hamilton, that’s all I’m saying.
