The Run for Milton is coming back for another year!
Organized by Mercy 4 Mankind, a subsidiary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA), the annual fundraiser is set for their second year post-pandemic, and what will be their sixth year total! The money raised will help the Milton District Hospital Foundation (MDHF). Last year, Run for Milton raised more than $30,000, which was a sharp increase from their previous $10,000 mark in 2019.
The goal is to raise $100,000 in a ten-year span. Committee member in charge of marketing, Mukhayyer Rajput, says they are nearly at their goal, and they need your help to cross the finish line!
The MDHF raises money for the Milton District Hospital, as federal government funding only covers brick and mortar costs. Donations help purchase items like medical equipment for staff to use.
Rajput explains why they chose the MDHF for a ten-year pledge.
Run For Milton will start at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 7th with a short opening ceremony period outside of the Mattamy National Cycling Centre at 2015 Pan Am Boulevard in Milton. There will be a timed 5km run that starts at 9:30 a.m. and a 1km ‘Fun Walk’ set for 9:40 a.m.
Register here. Registration deadline is Friday, October 6th at 11:59 p.m.
