Wild boars have been spotted across the GTA with the first sighting being in Pickering.
Recently, there was a sighting in the Burlington area, according to Conservation Halton. They said that while attacks are rare, you should not approach a wild boar if seen and all pets should be kept on a leash.

Well, the wild boars in Pickering have reportedly been caught and killed. How they caught the invasive species is interesting: the 14 boars were able to be captured by traps using a mixture of marshmallows, oatmeal and peanut butter sandwiches, according to local news reports.
CityNews Toronto reports that the boars were “humanely euthanized” and will be sent for necropsy and research.

There hasn’t been an update on the boars that were spotted in the Burlington area, whether they were a separate group, the same group that was caught or if they were real to begin with.
