Six Halton residents have reportedly died from COVID-19 over the weekend.
In the latest stats update from the Region of Halton, Halton is up to 84 deaths. Five of the deaths are out of Oakville, giving the town 32 deaths total from the virus. The other death is a Milton resident, giving us 18 deaths total.
The Milton death was an Allendale resident, giving the LTCH 13 deaths since its outbreak began on November 13th. All 13 deaths have been residents. There have been 69 total cases: 57 residents, 10 staff members, and two people with their roles not specified as of the time of writing.
The Milton District Hospital has now reported an outbreak of COVID-19. There have been two cases reported at the hospital. Both of the cases have been specified as residents. The outbreak reportedly began on December 12th.
myFM News has received a report that another Milton retirement home / long term care home is experiencing an outbreak. We are working on confirming the report. We will update you once we have confirmation.
As for the latest numbers, in Milton, we have 15 new cases. That brings our total up to 1370 cases. With 1222 resolved cases and 18 deaths, Milton is now at 130 active cases.
Across Halton, there are 68 new cases. The total number is up to 4552 cases. With 4065 resolved cases and 84 deaths, Halton is up to 403 active cases – 34 cases less than what was reported on Friday.
Milton and Burlington are tied as the Halton municipality with the highest active case count with 130 each. Oakville is third with 123 active cases. Halton Hills has 20 active cases.
