Culture Days Milton is a week into their month long celebration.
The annual event has had to make a shift due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Usually, the local Culture Days event spans across one weekend at the FirstOntario Arts Centre Milton. It’s regularly marked in the top 10 in Canada for its quantity and quality of activities.
The Program Coordinator for Arts Milton, Kaitlyn Patience, says the now month long event has been a hit so far.
Arts Milton provided a preview last week on what residents can expect to see and experience. It included digital activities like ‘Song Making Deconstructed’ and ‘Indian Folk Art’, as well as outdoor activities like the ‘Arts Milton Annual Community Project’ and ‘Arts Milton Curbside Concerts’. You can read more on those here.
While each activity is unique and fun, Patience says she does have one that she is especially looking forward to.
With some events taking place in-person, it’s important to remember that COVID-19 protocols are put in-place. That includes hand sanitizer, gloves if necessary, as well as promoting physical distancing. Masks are also being worn by all volunteers. Participants are asked that when taking part in self-guided activities or short-participatory activities to follow contact tracing measures like providing names and contact information, as well as wearing a mask, using hand sanitizer, and remaining physically distant from others not in your bubble.
With Culture Days Milton being such a highly regarded event across the country, Patience lists off a bunch of the cultures, activities, and events coming up over the next three weeks for Milton residents to enjoy!
Culture Days Milton runs until October 25th.
