Fresh off the longest heat wave in 20 years, we have jumped right back in the thick of things.
The Dog Days of Summer kicked off on July 3rd and they have disappointed. Environment Canada is predicting this current heat warning to last the weekend.
“A hot and increasingly humid air mass will affect south-central Ontario and the Greater Toronto Area through at least Sunday,” says the notice.

Watch for the effects of heat illness: swelling, rash, cramps, fainting, heat exhaustion, heat stroke and the worsening of some health conditions. Never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle. When it’s hot eat cool, light meals. Outdoor workers should take regularly scheduled breaks in a cool place. Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
Next week is looking cloudy with highs in the low-mid 20’s, so far cooler days are on the horizon.
