A recent heat wave doesn’t seem to be affecting certain crops this year.
The temperature climbed past the 30 degree mark for nearly two weeks straight.
Brad Fraser with Wheelbarrow Orchards says his apples haven’t been affected too badly, but the heat wave did slow down a bit of their growth.
He adds that the recent cool weather will offset the heat wave.
While comparing this summer’s weather to other years he says there is a difference between hot and dry seasons.
Last week represented one of the longest heat waves in almost 20 years.
