The Halton Regional Police Service’s commercial vehicle blitz showed a slow increase in compliance rates over previous years.
Halton police along with six other police services all gathered at the Mohawk Raceway in Milton earlier this month, for a two day commercial vehicle enforcement blitz.
This year, 443 vehicles were inspected, and 268 charges were laid.
Last year 477 vehicles were inspected and 331 charges were laid.
The top charges that were laid this year included, vehicle maintenance, failure to complete daily inspection and improper brakes.
The vehicle blitz did show improvement over previous years but it still shows that much work still needs to be done to ensure safety on our roads.
