
Milton Menace take the ice, 2019
The Milton Menace got back in the win column after losing in overtime to the Pickering Panthers.
The Brantford 99ers hosted the Menace on Thursday night. The Menace opened the scoring at the Gretzky Main Arena, with Ryan Holmes scoring a minute into the game, assisted by Alessandro Petreccia and Owen Forester. Holmes (assisted by Cole Semeniuk and Tyler Amaral) would score again nine minutes into the game, this time shorthanded. The first period ended 2-0 for the Menace.
The niners scored the lone goal in the second period. It was 2-1 after 40.
In the third, the Menace were able to get a powerplay goal from Aidan Hughes (Holden Rogers and Forester) to start the period. Holmes grabbed his hat trick goal (Andrew Horsley and Tyler Turpin) at 4:31 in the third. Captain Jordan Stock then made it 5-1 with a powerplay goal at 13:35 in the third. It was assisted by Ethan Sims and Forester.
Menace goaltender Carter Tahk stopped 21 of 22 shots to get the win.
The Milton Menace are now 31-10-0-5 after 46 games, giving them 67 points. Milton is second in the West Division and fourth across the entire Ontario Junior Hockey League.
The next game is on Saturday, March 12th when the Menace head to Stouffville to take on the Spirit. Gametime is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.. They will then play Markham on Sunday. We’ll have the weekend wrap on Monday morning.
