A pedestrian has been hospitalized following a collision in Burlington.
On March 2nd, at roughly 7:15 p.m., the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) responded to the intersection of Brant Street and Leighland Avenue for a report of a hit and run collision between a SUV and a pedestrian riding a stand-up style scooter northbound on Brant Street, just north of Leighland Avenue.
The pedestrian was originally transported to a local hospital with what was believed to be non-life threatening injuries. The pedestrian was later transported to a local trauma centre where they remain with critical injuries.
During the investigation, the SUV believed to be involved in the collision returned to the area of the collision. The SUV was a blue Honda CRV. The driver was identified as a 58-year-old Burlington man. He has been charged under the Provincial Offences Act.
Police are appealing for any witnesses that have not spoken to police, or if anyone had dashboard cameras that were in the area at the time of the collision to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit.
