COVID-19: Death reported in Halton, 15 new cases in Milton

The latest COVID-19 stats from the Halton Region show an additional death in the totals. The death appears to be a Burlington resident, giving the city 116 deaths total. Oakville remains at 93 deaths total. Milton is at 63 deaths total. Halton Hills is at 66. Halton is now at 338 deaths total from COVID-19.

The following note was issued by the Halton Region:

• Effective Friday, February 11, 2022, the Halton COVID-19 dashboard has been modernized to reflect the most meaningful and accurate data currently available. This includes the addition of information on third dose coverage, wastewater surveillance, revised monitoring indicators, and detailed trends over time including hospitalizations and deaths.
• The population estimates used to calculate vaccine coverage rates have also been updated to reflect the most recently available estimates. This will result in some initial shifts in vaccine coverage rates. For more information, please review the data notes below the dashboard.

Across Halton, there are 62 new cases. The total number of cases is up to 42,465. There have been 1,109 total hospitalizations in Halton.

In Milton, we had 15 new cases. That brings us to 11,881 total cases. There have been 273 total hospitalizations in Milton.

There are two active outbreaks in Milton:

• A congregate living facility labelled only as ‘Congregate Living – 86’. It was first declared on December 23rd.
• A congregate living facility labelled only as ‘Congregate Living – 118’. It was first declared on February 10th.

Looking at vaccination numbers, a total of 1,238,722 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 1,099,137 of the doses were to Halton residents.

Here’s a breakdown on ages of those receiving doses:

• 54,977 total doses have been administered to people aged 5-11;
• 91,115 total doses have been administered to people aged 12-17;
• 103,904 total doses have been administered to people aged 18-24;
• 67,088 total doses have been administered to people aged 25-29;
• 78,270 total doses have been administered to people aged 30-34;
• 91,314 total doses have been administered to people aged 35-39;
• 98,297 total doses have been administered to people aged 40-44;
• 103,322 total doses have been administered to people aged 45-49;
• 104,416 total doses have been administered to people aged 50-54;
• 99,462 total doses have been administered to people aged 55-59;

• 72,048 total doses have been administered to people aged 65-69;
• 65,920 total doses have been administered to people aged 70-74;

• 145 total additional doses are pending.

The following is where the vaccine doses have been administered:

• 339,967 total doses have been administered through pharmacies and physicians’ offices;
• 31,047 total doses have been administered through other clinic settings;
• 867,708 total doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
