The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has released the latest crime stats report, along with the CityProtect crime map.
The report and map each detail when and where reported crimes took place in Milton. Between Monday, January 17th and Monday, January 24th, there were at least 17 cases of crime took place. Here’s what we found:
- A theft of vehicle case at Main Street East and Martin Street on Monday, January 17th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Gowland Crescent on Monday, January 17th;
- an assault case on Campbell Avenue East in Campbellville on Monday, January 17th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Gowland Crescent on Tuesday, January 18th;
- an assault case on Martin Street on Tuesday, January 18th;
- a theft on Main Street East on Wednesday, January 19th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Maple Avenue on Wednesday, January 19th;
- a property crime case on Langholm Street on Thursday, January 20th;
- a property crime case on Mary Street on Thursday, January 20th;
- a theft case on Nipissing Road on Friday, January 21st;
- a theft of vehicle case on Leiterman Drive on Friday, January 21st;
- an assault case on Ferguson Drive on Friday, January 21st;
- a pair of assault cases on Bronte Street South on Friday, January 21st;
- a breaking and entering case on Bronte Street South on Saturday, January 22nd;
- a theft from vehicle case on Regional Road 25 on Sunday, January 23rd;
- a theft from vehicle case on Featherstone Road on Sunday, January 23rd.
Of the 17 cases of crime, nine were theft cases of some kind, five were assault cases, two were property crime cases, and one was a breaking and entering case.
With the number of theft and theft from vehicle cases, we’ll recycle a message from the HRPS where it encourages residents to implement the following theft prevention tips:
- Ensure your unattended vehicle(s) are locked and secure;
- Never leave spare keys in your vehicle;
- Remove valuables from plain view; and,
- Equip your vehicle with an alarm.
