The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has released the latest crime stats report, along with the CityProtect crime map.
The report and map each detail when and where reported crimes took place in Milton. Between Monday, January 3rd and Monday, January 10th, there were at least 13 cases of crime took place. Here’s what we found:
- A theft of vehicle case on Andrews Trail on Monday, January 3rd;
- a theft from vehicle case on Minto Crescent on Monday, January 3rd;
- a theft of vehicle case in the area of 5 Sideroad and Regional Road 25 on Monday January 3rd;
- a theft from vehicle case on Escarpment Way on Monday, January 3rd;
- a theft of vehicle case on Steeles Avenue on Monday, January 3rd;
- a breaking and entering case on Steeles on Avenue on Tuesday, January 4th;
- an assault case on Martin Street on Wednesday, January 5th;
- a theft on Main Street on Wednesday, January 5th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Bronte Street North on Wednesday, January 5th;
- a theft case on Megson Terrace on Wednesday, January 5th;
- a theft case on Esquesing Line on Thursday, January 6th;
- an assault case on Savoline Boulevard on Thursday, January 6th; and,
- an assault case on Harrop Drive on Thursday, January 6th.
Of the 13 cases of crime, nine were theft cases of some kind, three were assault cases, and one was a breaking and entering case.
With the number of theft and theft from vehicle cases, we’ll recycle a message from the HRPS where it encourages residents to implement the following theft prevention tips:
- Ensure your unattended vehicle(s) are locked and secure;
- Never leave spare keys in your vehicle;
- Remove valuables from plain view; and,
- Equip your vehicle with an alarm.
