The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has released the latest crime stats report, along with the CityProtect crime map.
The report and map each detail when and where reported crimes took place in Milton. Between Monday, December 27th and Monday, January 3rd, there were at least 15 cases of crime took place. Here’s what we found:
- A breaking and entering case on Main Street East on Monday, December 27th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Thompson Road South on Monday, December 27th;
- a property crime case on Cedar Hedge Road on Monday, December 27th;
- a theft case on Market Drive on Tuesday, December 28th;
- a property crime case on Martin Street on Tuesday, December 28th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Lavery Heights on Tuesday, December 28th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Bell School Line on Tuesday, December 28th;
- a property crime case on Industrial Drive on Wednesday, December 29th;
- a property crime case on Commercial Street on Wednesday, December 29th;
- a breaking and entering case on Main Street East on Friday, December 31st;
- an assault case on High Point Drive on Friday, December 31st;
- a robbery case on Trafalgar Road on Saturday, January 1st;
- a theft of vehicle case on Steeles Avenue on Saturday, January 1st;
- a theft of vehicle case on Steeles Avenue on Sunday, January 1st; and,
- a theft of vehicle case on Eager Road on Sunday, January 2nd.
Of the 15 cases of crime, seven were theft cases of some kind, four were property crime cases, two were breaking and entering cases, one was an assault case, and one was a robbery.
With the number of theft and theft from vehicle cases, we’ll recycle a message from the HRPS where it encourages residents to implement the following theft prevention tips:
- Ensure your unattended vehicle(s) are locked and secure;
- Never leave spare keys in your vehicle;
- Remove valuables from plain view; and,
- Equip your vehicle with an alarm.
