
The latest COVID-19 stats for Milton and Halton have been released.
Across Halton, there are 237 new cases. The total number of cases is up to 22,807. With 21,118 resolved cases and 246 deaths, Halton is at 1443 active cases, 123 more than Tuesday. The Region says that of the 22,807 total cases, 22,067 were confirmed positive while 740 were considered probable cases.
In Milton, we have 39 new cases. That brings us to 7041 total cases. With 6719 resolved cases and 48 deaths, Milton is at 274 active cases, 12 more than Tuesday’s update. The Region says that of the 7041 total cases, 6783 were confirmed positive while 258 were considered probable cases.
The Halton Region is reporting variant case totals. It says that 8891 total variant cases have been found in Halton. Milton has reportedly had 2814 total variant cases.
An outbreak has been declared at a congregate living facility. It is labelled only as ‘Congregate Living – 80’ on the Halton Region outbreak webpage. There are 91 cases being reported – 31 are non-Halton cases, 57 are residents, two are staff cases, and one unspecified. It was first declared on Thursday, November 4th.
An outbreak has been declared at a sports and fitness facility. It is listed as “Sports and Fitness – 12′ on the Halton Region webpage. It was first reported on Friday, December 17th. There are four cases being reported. All four are Halton cases.
Three outbreaks have closed:
- An outbreak at Milton’s at Tarbiyah Elementary School on Ontario Street South has closed. There were two cases, the minimum required for an outbreak to be reported. Both were considered Halton cases. It was declared on Friday, December 10th. It closed on Tuesday, December 21st.
- The outbreak at Elementary School Catholic Saint-Nicolas on Milton’s Woodward Avenue has closed. There were four cases reported – three Halton cases and one non-Halton case. It was declared on Tuesday, December 14th. It closed on Tuesday, December 21st.
- An outbreak at a fitness facility in Milton has closed. It was listed as ‘Sports & Fitness – 10’ by the Halton Region. There were seven cases reported, all of which were Halton cases. It was first declared on Tuesday, December 14th. It closed on Tuesday, December 21st.
Looking at vaccination numbers, a total of 1,012,730 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 905,641 of the doses were to Halton residents.
463,179 second doses have been administered in Halton. 412,280 of those have been Halton residents.
80,882 additional doses have been administered in Halton. 70,959 of those have been Halton residents.

- 13,907 first doses, 10,156 second doses and 6287 additional doses have been administered through the Halton Region Public Health and Paramedic Mobile Teams;
- 368,659 first doses, 342,006 second doses and 34,314 additional doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
