
A Milton resident has reportedly died from COVID-19.
The latest COVID-19 stats from the Halton Region show an additional death in the totals. The death appears to have been a Milton resident, giving the town 48 deaths from the virus. Burlington remains at 71, Oakville at 69, and Halton Hills at 58. Halton is now at 246 deaths total from COVID-19.
Across Halton, there are 258 new cases. The total number of cases is up to 22,570. With 21,004 resolved cases and 246 deaths, Halton is at 1320 active cases, 168 more than Monday. The Region says that of the 22,570 total cases, 21,834 were confirmed positive while 736 were considered probable cases.
In Milton, we have 50 new cases. That brings us to 7002 total cases. With 6692 resolved cases and 48 deaths, Milton is at 262 active cases, 33 more than Monday’s update. The Region says that of the 7002 total cases, 6745 were confirmed positive while 257 were considered probable cases.
The Halton Region is reporting variant case totals. It says that 8739 total variant cases have been found in Halton. Milton has reportedly had 2787 total variant cases.
An outbreak has been declared at a congregate living facility. It is labelled only as ‘Congregate Living – 80’ on the Halton Region outbreak webpage. There are 90 cases being reported – 30 are non-Halton cases, 57 are residents, two are staff cases, and one unspecified. It was first declared on Thursday, November 4th.
Another outbreak has been declared at a Milton school. It is at Tarbiyah Elementary School on Ontario Street South. There are currently just two cases, the minimum required for an outbreak to be reported. Both are considered Halton cases. It was declared on Friday, December 10th.
The Halton Region has reported an outbreak at a second Milton school. This one is at Elementary School Catholic Saint-Nicolas on Woodward Avenue. There are currently four cases being reported – three Halton cases and one non-Halton case. It was declared on Tuesday, December 14th.
A fitness facility in Milton has reported an outbreak. It is listed as ‘Sports & Fitness – 10’ by the Halton Region. There are currently seven cases being reported, all of which are Halton cases. It was first declared on Tuesday, December 14th.
Looking at vaccination numbers, a total of 1,005,540 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 899,537 of the doses were to Halton residents.
463,049 second doses have been administered in Halton. 412,196 of those have been Halton residents.
74,878 additional doses have been administered in Halton. 65,883 of those have been Halton residents.

- 367,721 first doses, 341,964 second doses and 31,990 additional doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
