The latest COVID-19 stats for Milton and Halton have been released.
Across Halton, there have been 109 new cases. The total number of cases is up to 21,285. With 20,550 resolved cases and 245 deaths, Halton is at 490 active cases, 74 more than Tuesday. The Region says that of the 21,285 total cases, 20,554 were confirmed positive while 731 were considered probable cases.
In Milton, we have 30 new cases. That brings us to 6757 total cases. With 6582 resolved cases and 47 deaths, Milton is at 128 active cases, 23 more than Tuesday’s update. The Region says that of the 6757 total cases, 6502 were confirmed positive while 255 were considered probable cases.
The Halton Region is reporting variant case totals. It says that 8171 total variant cases have been found in Halton. Milton has reportedly had 2666 total variant cases.
An outbreak has been declared at a congregate living facility. It is labelled only as ‘Congregate Living – 80’ on the Halton Region outbreak webpage. There are 87 cases being reported – 31 are non-Halton cases, 52 are residents, two are staff cases, and two are not specified just yet. It was first declared on Thursday, November 4th.
Another outbreak has been declared at a Milton school. It is at Tarbiyah Elementary School on Ontario Street South. There are currently just two cases, the minimum required for an outbreak to be reported. Both are considered Halton cases. It was declared on Friday, December 10th.
The Halton Region has reported an outbreak at a second Milton school. This one is at Elementary School Catholic Saint-Nicolas on Woodward Avenue. There are currently four cases being reported – three Halton cases and one non-Halton case. It was declared on Tuesday, December 14th.
A fitness facility in Milton has reported an outbreak. It is listed as ‘Sports & Fitness – 10’ by the Halton Region. There are currently six cases being reported, all of which are Halton cases. It was first declared on Tuesday, December 14th.
Looking at vaccination numbers, a total of 971,799 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 870,277 of the doses were to Halton residents.
462,266 second doses have been administered in Halton. 411,675 of those have been Halton residents.
47,320 additional doses have been administered in Halton. 42,003 of those have been Halton residents.

- 362,672 first doses, 340,580 second doses and 19,215 additional doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
