The Chief Medical Officer of Health for the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit says the threat of more restrictions is real.
Dr Charles Gardner says the surge in COVID-19 cases in the health unit is troubling.
He says he doesn’t want us to take a step backwards when it comes to reopening.
He says there may be more.
Dr Gardner says for the last 7 weeks Simcoe Muskoka has had a higher rate of infection than the provincial average.
He did have some good news.
Dr Gardner says we have yet to see a surge in hospitalizations or patients in ICU, so far.
