Environment Canada is warning of freezing rain and significant rainfall overnight.
A special weather statement has been released, warning of freezing rain and up to 25 mm of heavy rain in and around Milton. The potential storm could also bring winds up to 80 km/h. The rain is expected to last until late Monday morning, while the wind is expected to be around until Tuesday.
Environment Canada wants residents to be aware of the dangers of these kinds of storms:
“Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Localized flooding is possible for areas that have recently received accumulating snowfall. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees.”
If it gets bad, try to work from home if you can.
