The COVID-19 death toll in South Simcoe has reached 88.
Two residents, one each from Essa and Bradford West Gwillimbury are the latest to die due to complications from the virus.
The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit is reporting 29 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in South Simcoe in the last day (dec 2).
13 of those are in Bradford West Gwillimbury, 6 each are in New Tecumseth and Innisfil, there are 2 in Adjala-Tosorontio and 2 in Essa.
14 of the new cases are in people 17 years of age and under.
There were 109 confirmed cases in Simcoe County with 35 from Barrie.
There are now 141 active cases in South Simcoe, up 4 since Thursday (dec 1) with 4 cases in hospital which is unchanged.
With kids aged 5-11 now eligible for vaccine, the health unit still shows 78% of residents of Simcoe Muskoka have had their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine with 75% fully vaccinated.
