Snow squalls are forecast to move into the region late this afternoon. These squalls will bring rapidly accumulating snowfall along with reduced visibilities at times. Travel will be impacted including the evening commute.
Snowfall accumulations of 5 to 10 cm are expected. The squalls are expected to dissipate tonight.
Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common. Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather.
