The Sir Frederick Banting Legacy Foundation in Alliston has partnered with the International Diabetes Federation on a new project during Diabetes Awareness Month.
The Rural Diabetes Coalition is aimed at aiding all children but specifically, aged 8 to 17.
Kait Perez Diaz is the Program Director with the Banting Legacy Foundation.
She says a new website is packed with information that parents, teachers and students can all learn from.
Perez Diaz says one of the easiest ways to prevent youth-onset diabetes is to eat properly, get enough exercise and don’t take up smoking.
