The latest impaired driving report from the Halton Police is now available.
It shows ten cases across Halton last weekend. Two involved Milton:
On Friday, November 5th, just after 12:30 p.m., Halton Police officers responded to a collision in the area of Derry Road and Twiss Road in Milton. As a result of an investigation, a 57-year-old Hamilton woman was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Friday, November 5th, just before 6:00 p.m., Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Guelph Line and Mainway in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, a 36-year-old Brantford man was charged with operation while impaired.
On Friday, November 5th, just before 9:30 p.m., Halton Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Maple Avenue and Woodward Avenue in Milton. As a result of an investigation, a 25-year-old Milton woman was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Saturday, November 6th, just before 2:00 p.m., Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Appleby Line and the Queen Elizabeth Way in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, a 40-year-old Burlington man was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Saturday, November 6th, just after 4:00 p.m., Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Third Line and Upper Middle Road West in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, a 44-year-old Burlington man was charged with operation while impaired.
On Saturday, November 6th, just before 12:00 a.m., Halton Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Wyecroft Road and Fourth Line in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, a 52-year-old Mississauga man was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Sunday, November 7th, just after 12:30 a.m., Halton Police officers were conducting a R.I.D.E. initiative in the area of Eighth Line and Argyll Road in Halton Hills. As a result of this initiative, a 54-year-old Halton Hills woman was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Sunday, November 7th, just before 2:30 a.m., Halton Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Brant Street and Fairview Street in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, a 28-year-old Hamilton woman was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Sunday, November 7th, just before 3:00 a.m., Halton Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Wyecroft Road and Burloak Drive in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, a 39-year-old Mississauga man was charged with operation while impaired and failure or refusal to comply with demand.
On Sunday, November 7th, just after 8:30 p.m., Halton Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Waterdown Road and Highway 403 in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, a 27-year-old Dundas woman was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
Remember, driving under the influence is considered a crime in progress. Call 9-1-1 if you suspect that someone on the road is driving impaired.
Here are some signs of an impaired driver provided by the Halton Police:
- Driving unreasonably fast, slow or at an inconsistent speed;
- Drifting in and out of lanes;
- Tailgating and changing lanes frequently;
- Making exceptionally wide turns;
- Changing lanes or passing without sufficient clearance;
- Overshooting or stopping well before stop signs or stop lights;
- Disregarding signals and lights;
- Approaching signals or leaving intersections too quickly or slowly;
- Driving without headlights, failing to lower high beams or leaving turn signals on; and,
- Driving with windows open in cold or inclement weather.
The HRPS says that its officers remain committed to road safety through prevention, education, and enforcement initiatives.
