The number of positive COVID cases in the area is headed in the wrong direction.
Dr. Charles Gardner is the Chief Medical Officer of Health with the Simcoe Muskoka District health Unit.
He says a high number of people becoming infected with the virus now are in elementary school.

Dr. Gardner says the high caseload is also forcing the health unit to change their contact tracing procedure.
He says people who are testing positive are being asked to call those they have come into contact with themselves, so those people can isolate or get tested.
