The weekend COVID-19 stats for Milton and Halton have been released.
Across Halton, there are 55 new cases since Friday. The total number of cases is up to 20,027. With 19,692 resolved cases and 243 deaths, Halton is at 92 active cases, 12 more than Friday. The Region says that of the 20,027 total cases, 19,323 were confirmed positive while 704 were considered probable cases.
In Milton, we have 26 new cases. That brings us to 6390 total cases. With 6308 resolved cases and 46 deaths, Milton is at 36 active cases, 11 cases more than Friday’s update. The Region says that of the 6390 total cases, 6144 were confirmed positive while 246 were considered probable cases.
The Halton Region has updated its definition of variant cases to align with Provincial reporting. The number of variant cases will be higher on Tuesday, November 2nd due to this reporting update. It says that 7621 total variant cases have been found in Halton. Milton has reportedly had 2498 total variant cases.
An outbreak has been reported at a Milton school. It’s at Holy Rosary (Milton) Catholic Elementary School. It was first reported by the Halton Region on Wednesday, October 27th. There are two cases being reported (the minimum for an outbreak). Both are considered Halton cases, meaning they are Halton residents.
An outbreak has been declared at a Milton school. It’s at Tiger Jeet Singh Public School. It was first declared on Thursday, November 4th. There are two reported cases. Both are considered Halton cases.
A new outbreak has been declared at a congregate living facility. It is labelled only as ‘Congregate Living – 80’ on the Halton Region outbreak webpage. There are 14 cases being reported – four are non-Halton cases and ten remain unspecified.
Looking at vaccination numbers, a total of 894,738 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 801,616 of the doses were to Halton residents.
455,671 second doses have been administered in Halton. 406,546 of those have been Halton residents.

- 2010 first doses and 1341 second doses are pending.
