Moment of Silence 2021
On November 11th, we will honour the veterans who fought for our country.
Ahead of the day, 13-year-old Nadia Karipidis of Milton paused for a moment of silence at the local cenotaph to commemorate the veteran members of The War Amps.
Karipidis says she is proud to be part of Operation Legacy, in which members and graduates of The War Amps Child Amputee (CHAMP) Program help carry on the remembrance message.
The War Amps was established more than 100 years ago by amputee veterans returning from the First World War to help each other adapt to their new reality. They then welcomed the next generation of amputee veterans following the Second World War.
Today, the Association continues to assist all amputees across Canada, including children and veterans.
