Environment Canada is telling Milton residents to get ready for a storm.
After the rain that we had last night, we’re expected to get even more on Friday night. A special weather statement is in effect, and it’s calling for anywhere between 20-40 mm of rain.
“Rain at times heavy this afternoon through tonight. Heavy rainfall with amounts reaching 20 to 40 mm. Showers and thunderstorms are forecast to move across the region this afternoon through tonight as a low pressure system and associated cold front push through the region.”
Here’s your weekend forecast from Environment Canada as of 11:00 a.m.:
| date | Detailed Forecast |
|---|---|
| Today | Cloudy with 40 percent chance of showers. Risk of a thunderstorm late this afternoon. High 21. UV index 2 or low. |
| Tonight | Showers at times heavy with risk of a thunderstorm. Local amount 15 to 25 mm. Low 12. |
| Sat, 16 Oct | Showers ending near noon then cloudy with 40 percent chance of showers. Wind becoming west 30 km/h gusting to 50 in the morning. High 16. UV index 2 or low. |

If you have anything outside that needs to be brought inside, make sure to do it BEFORE the rain comes.
Here’s hoping this is one of those times where the storm completely misses us!
