The Nottawasaga OPP have brought on a K9 officer and his handler.
Janus is a 2 year old Belgian Malinois and Constable Sarah Hendrick is an 18 year veteran of the police force.
She is one of 3 female dog handlers hired by the OPP.
A first for the Ontario Provincial Police.
Constable Hendrick says besides being a police officer, Janus is a really good dog.

Women have made up a portion of the dog handlers in Canada since 1974 but Constable Hendrick is the first of 3 to be hired by the OPP.
She and Janus are stationed out of Alliston but cover all of Simcoe, Dufferin, Huronia West and Caledon Regions.
