After a bit of a wave the last month or two, we seem to be on another dip.
Across Halton, there are eight new cases. The total number of cases is up to 19,703. With 19,374 resolved cases and 242 deaths, Halton is now at 87 active cases, five less cases than Wednesday’s update. The Region says that of the 19,703 total cases, 19,015 were confirmed positive while 688 were considered probable cases.
In Milton, we have one new case. That keeps us at 6303 total cases. With 6225 resolved cases and 46 deaths, Milton is at 32 active cases, one less than Wednesday’s update. The Region says that of the 6303 total cases, 6062 were confirmed positive while 241 were considered probable cases.
The Halton Region is detailing the number of COVID-19 variant cases. It says that 6596 total variant cases have been found in Halton. Milton has reportedly had 2237 total variant cases.
The Halton Region has reported an outbreak at a Milton school. The outbreak was first declared on Tuesday, October 12th. There are two cases being reported, both being considered ‘Halton’ cases, meaning the residents are from Halton. The outbreak is at Anne J. Macarthur Public School.
An outbreak is being reported at a second Milton school. This outbreak is at St. Benedict Catholic Elementary School. There are two cases being reported, the minimum for what is considered an outbreak. The outbreak was first declared on Wednesday, October 13th.
Looking at vaccination numbers, a total of 881,163 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 790,976 of the doses were to Halton residents.
446,650 second doses have been administered in Halton. 399,394 of those have been Halton residents.

- 17,281 first doses and 17,046 second doses have been administered to people aged 75-79;
- 24,690 first doses and 24,408 second doses have been administered to people aged 80+; and,
- 1,946 first doses and 1187 second doses are pending.
The following is where the vaccine doses have been administered:
- 76,871 first doses and 100,650 second doses have been administered through pharmacies and physicians’ offices;
- 13,856 first doses and 10,022 second doses have been administered through the Halton Region Public Health and Paramedic Mobile Teams;
- 343,786 first doses and 335,978 second doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
The Halton Region says that out of the 458,518 Halton residents who are immunized with two doses of the COVID-19, 0.12% of them have tested positive for the virus after vaccination. For Milton, there are 95,604 fully immunized residents – 0.12% of them have tested positive for the virus after vaccination.
