We have our last COVID-19 update for Milton and Halton before the Thanksgiving long weekend.
Across Halton, there are 26 new cases. The total number of cases is up to 19,634. With 19,285 resolved cases and 242 deaths, Halton is now at 107 active cases, four more cases than Thursday’s update. The Region says that of the 19,634 total cases, 18,948 were confirmed positive while 686 were considered probable cases.
In Milton, we have ten new cases. That keeps us at 6277 total cases. With 6206 resolved cases and 46 deaths, Milton is at 25 active cases, three more than Thursday’s update. The Region says that of the 6277 total cases, 6036 were confirmed positive while 241 were considered probable cases.
The Halton Region is detailing the number of COVID-19 variant cases. It says that 6569 total variant cases have been found in Halton. Milton has reportedly had 2231 total variant cases.
A Milton school is dealing with an outbreak. Irma Coulson Public School has seven reported cases, each are Halton Cases. The outbreak was declared on Friday, September 24th.
Looking at vaccination numbers, a total of 877,094 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 787,749 of the doses were to Halton residents.
443,958 second doses have been administered in Halton. 397,216 of those have been Halton residents.
Here’s a breakdown on ages of those receiving doses:

- 17,267 first doses and 17,028 second doses have been administered to people aged 75-79;
- 24,683 first doses and 24,392 second doses have been administered to people aged 80+; and,
- 1,917 first doses and 1098 second doses are pending.
The following is where the vaccine doses have been administered:
- 75,932 first doses and 98,895 second doses have been administered through pharmacies and physicians’ offices;
- 13,824 first doses and 9999 second doses have been administered through the Halton Region Public Health and Paramedic Mobile Teams;
- 343,380 first doses and 335,064 second doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
The Halton Region says that out of the 455,815 Halton residents who are immunized with two doses of the COVID-19, 0.11% of them have tested positive for the virus after vaccination. For Milton, there are 94,949 fully immunized residents – 0.11% of them have tested positive for the virus after vaccination.
