Drivers are being reminded to follow the rules of the road this Thanksgiving Long Weekend as Police gear up for Operation Impact.
South Simcoe Police will be taking part in the public awareness campaign in an effort to save lives and reduce injuries.
Beginning Friday (oct 8) and running through Holiday Monday (oct 11) officers will be focusing on behaviors that put drivers, passengers and other people on the roads at risk including impaired, aggressive and distracted driving and driving without a seatbelt.
Statistics indicate, every year, collisions kill approximately 2,000 Canadians, seriously injure around 10,000 and and 165,000 suffer various other injuries.
