The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit is reporting 5 new cases of COVID-19 in South Simcoe in the last day (oct 4).
3 of those in Innisfil and 2 Bradford West Gwillimbury.
There were 14 in total in Simcoe County.
There are now 51 active cases in South Simcoe, down 8 since Monday (oct 4) with 3 cases in hospital which is unchanged.
The health unit now shows 85% of eligible residents of Simcoe Muskoka have had their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine with 80% fully vaccinated.
From August 8th to October 2nd, the rate of COVID-19 infection among the unvaccinated in Simcoe Muskoka was 11 times higher than it is for fully vaccinated population and the rate of hospitalization was 40 times higher.
