Even with a low number of new cases today, we still saw a rise in active cases.
Across Halton, there are 13 new cases. The total number of cases is up to 19,570. With 19,219 resolved cases and 242 deaths, Halton is now at 109 active cases, seven more cases than Monday’s update. The Region says that of the 19,570 total cases, 18,892 were confirmed positive while 678 were considered probable cases.
In Milton, we have one new case. That keeps us at 6256 total cases. With 6184 resolved cases and 46 deaths, Milton is at 26 active cases, two less cases than Monday’s updates. The Region says that of the 6256 total cases, 6018 were confirmed positive while 238 were considered probable cases.
The Halton Region is detailing the number of COVID-19 variant cases. It says that 6559 total variant cases have been found in Halton. Milton has reportedly had 2231 total variant cases.
An outbreak at a Milton workplace has officially been closed. It was first declared on Wednesday, September 8th. It was labelled as ‘Workplace – 158’. There were 18 reported cases. Two were considered Halton cases. 16 were ‘non-Halton’ cases. It was closed on Monday, October 4th.
Another outbreak has been closed. This one was at a Milton school (Escarpment View Public School). There were four cases being reported, all were Halton cases. It was first declared on Tuesday, September 28th. The outbreak closed on Monday, October 4th.
A Milton school is dealing with an outbreak. Irma Coulson Public School has seven reported cases, each are Halton Cases. The outbreak was declared on Friday, September 24th.
Looking at vaccination numbers, a total of 874,852 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 785,970 of the doses were to Halton residents.

The Halton Region says that out of the 454,173 Halton residents who are immunized with two doses of the COVID-19, 0.11% of them have tested positive for the virus after vaccination. For Milton, there are 94,472 fully immunized residents – 0.11% of them have tested positive for the virus after vaccination.
