The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) needs your help in finding the suspect in a sexual assault case that happened in Burlington.
On Monday, September 20th, at roughly 6:30 p.m., a 17-year-old girl was sitting on a bench on the Waterfront Trail in Burlington’s Spencer Smith Park. The suspect was observed to be taking photographs of the victim. He then sat beside her on the bench and touched her breast above her shirt. The suspect then fled the area on foot.
The suspect is described as:
- Male, in his 50’s or 60’s
- Asian
- 5’9” to 5’10” tall with a thin build
- Noticeable wrinkles
- Spoke with a thick accent/broken English
- Wearing a white t-shirt with red sleeves and a grey baseball hat with a white design on the front. He was holding a cell phone with a bright red case
Police have information that two young males may have seen the victim and suspect together on the bench. One of the youths was on a bike and the other was on a skateboard. Police would like to speak to these potential witnesses.
