The latest COVID-19 stats for Milton and Halton are now available and there’s a new outbreak in the update.
Across Halton, there are 17 new cases. The total number of cases is up to 19,471. With 19,088 resolved cases and 242 deaths, Halton is now at 141 active cases, two less cases than Tuesday’s update. The Region says that of the 19,471 total cases, 18,802 were confirmed positive while 669 were considered probable cases.
In Milton, we have zero new cases. That keeps us at 6232 total cases. With 6157 resolved cases and 46 deaths, Milton is at 29 active cases, four less cases than Tuesday’s updates. The Region says that of the 6232 total cases, 5997 were confirmed positive while 235 were considered probable cases.
The Halton Region is detailing the number of COVID-19 variant cases. It says that 6536 total variant cases have been found in Halton. Milton has reportedly had 2222 total variant cases.
An outbreak has been declared in Milton. It was first declared on Wednesday, September 8th. It is labelled as ‘Workplace – 158’. There are now 17 reported cases. Two are considered Halton cases. 15 are ‘non-Halton’ cases.
A second outbreak has been declared in Milton, this time a school. Hawthorne Village Public School has two cases, both Halton cases. The outbreak was declared on Thursday, September 16th.
Another Milton school is now dealing with an outbreak. Irma Coulson Public School has three reported cases, each are Halton Cases. The outbreak was declared on Friday, September 24th.
A third Milton school outbreak has just been declared. This outbreak is at Escarpment View Public School. There are two cases being reported, both are Halton cases. It was first declared on Tuesday, September 28th.
Looking at vaccination numbers, a total of 870,015 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 782,152 of the doses were to Halton residents.
439,200 second doses have been administered in Halton. 393,417 of those have been Halton residents.
Here’s a breakdown on ages of those receiving doses:
- 37,974 first doses and 44,021 second doses have been administered to people aged 12-17;
- 38,292 first doses and 40,928 second doses have been administered to people aged 18-24;
- 25,079 first doses and 25,426 second doses have been administered to people aged 25-29;
- 29,417 first doses and 29,380 second doses have been administered to people aged 30-34;
- 33,849 first doses and 34,192 second doses have been administered to people aged 35-39;
- 36,21 first doses and 37,189 second doses have been administered to people aged 40-44;
- 37,622 first doses and 38,805 second doses have been administered to people aged 45-49;
- 36,635 first doses and 37,295 second doses have been administered to people aged 50-54;
- 35,181 first doses and 34,834 second doses have been administered to people aged 55-59;
- 28,691 first doses and 28,350 second doses have been administered to people aged 60-64;
- 25,253 first doses and 24,269 second doses have been administered to people aged 65-69;
- 22,828 first doses and 22,226 second doses have been administered to people aged 70-74;
- 17,231 first doses and 17,006 second doses have been administered to people aged 75-79;
- 24,665 first doses and 24,357 second doses have been administered to people aged 80+; and,
- 1,877 first doses and 922 second doses are pending.
The following is where the vaccine doses have been administered:
- 74,362 first doses and 95,782 second doses have been administered through pharmacies and physicians’ offices;
- 13,821 first doses and 9984 second doses have been administered through the Halton Region Public Health and Paramedic Mobile Teams;
- 342,632 first doses and 333,434 second doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
The Halton Region says that out of the 450,905 Halton residents who are immunized with two doses of the COVID-19, 0.10% of them have tested positive for the virus after vaccination. For Milton, there are 93,701 fully immunized residents – 0.10% of them have tested positive for the virus after vaccination.
