Coming out of the weekend, there are a bunch of new cases.
Across Halton, there are 75 new cases since Friday. The total number of cases is up to 19,421. With 19,038 resolved cases and 241 deaths, Halton is now at 142 active cases, 13 less cases than Friday’s update. The Region says that of the 19,421 total cases, 18,752 were confirmed positive while 669 were considered probable cases.
In Milton, we have 19 new cases. That brings us to 6220 total cases. With 6143 resolved cases and 46 deaths, Milton is at 31 active cases, three less case than Friday’s updates. The Region says that of the 6220 total cases, 5988 were confirmed positive while 232 were considered probable cases.
The Halton Region is detailing the number of COVID-19 variant cases. It says that 6538 total variant cases have been found in Halton. Milton has reportedly had 2223 total variant cases.
An outbreak has been declared in Milton. It was first declared on Wednesday, September 8th. It is labelled as ‘Workplace – 158’. There are now 16 reported cases. Two are considered Halton cases. 14 are ‘non-Halton’ cases.
A second outbreak has been declared in Milton, this time a school. Hawthorne Village Public School has two cases, both Halton cases. The outbreak was declared on Thursday, September 16th.
Another Milton school is now dealing with an outbreak. Irma Coulson Public School has two reported cases, both Halton Cases. The outbreak was declared on Friday, September 24th.
Looking at vaccination numbers, a total of 868,056 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 780,636 of the doses were to Halton residents.
437,984 second doses have been administered in Halton. 392,460 of those have been Halton residents.
Here’s a breakdown on ages of those receiving doses:

- 17,224 first doses and 17,002 second doses have been administered to people aged 75-79;
- 24,661 first doses and 24,346 second doses have been administered to people aged 80+; and,
- 1,871 first doses and 872 second doses are pending.
The following is where the vaccine doses have been administered:
- 73,806 first doses and 94,925 second doses have been administered through pharmacies and physicians’ offices;
- 80 first doses and 182 second doses have been administered through Nelson High School in Burlington;
- 80 first doses and 116 second doses have been administered through Mountainside RC in Burlington;
- 13,812 first doses and 9970 second doses have been administered through the Halton Region Public Health and Paramedic Mobile Teams;
- 80 first doses and 194 second doses have been administered through Glen Abbey CC in Oakville;
- 342,214 first doses and 332,597 second doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
The Halton Region says that out of the 449,708 Halton residents who are immunized with two doses of the COVID-19, 0.10% of them have tested positive for the virus after vaccination. For Milton, there are 93,368 fully immunized residents – 0.10% of them have tested positive for the virus after vaccination.
