In the past, South Simcoe Police have made appeal for residents and businesses for their security camera footage to help gather information to aid in investigations
In that vein, they have initiated the South Simcoe Police Security Camera Registry.
Cliff Aguiar is a Crime Analyst with South Simcoe Police.
He says the footage and quick access to it could be key and bringing to a conclusion several types of incidents.
Cliff Aguiar says the camera registry would be a databank, but adds it is voluntary and they don’t want to tap access to your system
He says knowing where cameras are located in the community can help officers quickly and efficiently recover possible footage and save valuable time in investigations.
