It just wasn’t the Milton Menace’s weekend.
After beating the Brantford 99ers twice, including a back-and-forth OT win, the Menace were looking to keep the good times rolling. That began on Friday night with up to 250 fans allowed to watch the team play the Toronto Jr. Canadiens at the Milton Memorial Arena on Thompson.
Friday night’s game even started off strong, with Aidan Hughes scoring the first goal of the game. The mood suddenly changed when Toronto scored four in a row in the second period. Jordan Stock scored a late one for the Menace to give the Captain and Hughes two-point nights (1G, 1A each). Toronto won 4-2.
Then came Sunday night. The rematch against Toronto started off physical with Aidan Hughes laying a big hit and Owen Forester also suffering an injury. The Jr. Canadiens then scored two goals before Lucas Buzziol continued his strong preseason to make it 2-1 at the end of two. Toronto scored three in the third, while the Menace got a pair of goals from Justin Randhawa. Toronto won again, 5-3.
