A collision involving a Halton Police cruiser has closed a section of a Milton road.
On Wednesday, September 1st, at roughly 9:00 p.m., a Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) cruiser and another vehicle collided in the area of Steeles Avenue and Cleve Court in Milton. The HRPS has confirmed that injuries were sustained as a result of the collision and one person was transported to hospital. The officer involved was also injured; however, they were not transported to hospital.
Steeles Avenue East between James Snow Parkway and Fifth Line in Milton was closed and will remain so for an extended period this morning (Thursday, September 2nd) as the investigation continues. Motorists are being asked to avoid the area. Those attending the Amazon warehouse are being asked to use an alternate entrance via Fifth Line.
Due to the circumstances of the collision, the investigation is now being conducted by members of the Special Investigations Unit (SIU).
