Community Living North Halton (CLNH) is holding a golf tournament next month!
It will be the 25th year for the Ray Forde Memorial Golf Tournament. CLNH offers residential services, recreational program, programs for people with autism, job skill training, and much more. This annual event is a chance for them to fund all of those programs.
Last year’s event was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which really put a strain on the charity as a whole. Social Media Marketing Coordinator for CLNH Sheldon Samlall says it’s nice to get together once again.
The fundraising goal for the golf tournament is $50,000. Samlall says you can contribute by taking part in the golf action, raffle or just by donating.
With last year’s event not being held, many regular attendees should expect some changes between this upcoming event and 2019’s tournament. Samlall says it’s likely going to feature a tiered start, rather than a shotgun start. That means golfers will tee off at scheduled times to avoid the cluster of people. An online auction may be held in place of a physical version, but Samlall says that hasn’t yet been confirmed.
The golf tournament is taking place at Piper’s Heath golf club in Milton on Thursday, September 23rd. To register or learn more, you can click here.
